Ok so,it's 8:30 in the morning and I just dropped off the kids at school.On the way there they began to say prayers like we do everyday.They prayed for all the normal things ....for God to protect them, that they would be kind to others and respectful of the teacher and that they would be like Jesus today.Then I asked them if they had any scripture to share today.(they know it better than I do)They both gave one.Kaydens was "He who dwells in shelter of the almighty will rest in the shadow of the most high" and Chase's was "He is like a tree planted by the streams of water,which yields it's fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.Whatever he does prospers." I thought, how awesome it is to hear those words come out of their mouth.To know that the years of putting up with midnight feedings and temper tantrums(which still happen with little girl) are all worth it.I am so glad we chose to be poorer than we already where and put them in a wonderful christian school that teaches the word of God and prays daily.That was a sacrifice that has paid off for sure!And as they walked into school, I watched them walk away.I thought about the lunch i packed and the braid in Kaydens hair I had to do 3 times to get it perfect.I thought about the several things I had to remind Chase about because he is so forgetful with the small things of life.I thought about the homework, theatre and dance class that took all night last night.Those are things I feel so honored and blessed to do.I am so blessed that I don't have to get up in the morning and go to work.My work is to be a servant to my beautiful children and hard working husband.I thank God for that.It is a prayer answered.For all you mom's with infants and toddlers,it does get easier.Keep up the hard work and doing God's will in your children and you will reap the reward.Now I have to start praying for the teen years!God help me!
Oh and by the way...as I was pondering all this on the way home,I hit and killed a squirrel.Major buzz kill!!!!hahaha!

Day after election day prayer

Dear Holy, Sovereign,beautiful God...
I praise you this morning for who you are and how much you love your people.I thank you that you do what is best for your children even when we don't know it or acknowledge it.You are so loving and gracious and just.I pray for our President that you would move the heart of this King.That you would change his heart where it does not match up with yours in such a radical and life changing way that he or his family will never be the same again.I pray for his wife and beautiful children that you would save their Daddy.Show him your power and love for them.Show them their sin and transform like only you can.I pray also for us as your people,that you would forgive us for fearing and forgive us for doubting you when we are so richly blessed.I pray that you show us our sin so we can ask for forgiveness because we are sometimes blinded by the world and the enemy.You alone are my rock and my salvation,you alone are my defense,I SHALL NOT BE GREATLY MOVED!!!!
